National Parliament on Thursday. Abdul Hamid, it was his last speech in Parliament as President. His second term as president ends on April 23. According to the constitution of Bangladesh no person has the right to be president more than twice. As the head of state in rank, the President's speech in Parliament carries special importance. His last speech has special significance. The President's last speech also created a different emotional atmosphere in the Parliament session. Because He is our main guardian. In this speech, the President said some things which are relevant not only for Bangladesh but also for the whole world. As he said, 'We are passing through an important juncture of national life. The year 2022 was challenging for us. The whole world has gone through this difficult time. He said, we have been able to successfully deal with the corona epidemic and maintain the dynamics of the economy, but the Russia-Ukraine war has slowed down our progress. This speech of the President is very relevant for us. In fact, we have to proceed with extreme caution in every aspect to face this difficult time. We have many other problems. The President also said in those contexts. He urged the people to work unitedly to establish an exploitation-free society by completely eradicating corruption, terrorism, drugs and militancy. Needless to say, corruption is one of the biggest problems in the country. It is difficult to find a government institution where corruption is not practiced. An all-out fight against it has become necessary today. Terrorism and violence is a major scourge of the country. The President had earlier also asked to build unity against it. Needless to say, violence is a major obstacle to the practice of democracy. We have to struggle to remove this barrier from the society. Everyone should participate in this struggle regardless of party affiliation. Referring to the people as the source of all power and the national parliament as the center of expectations, the president said to the members of parliament that public interest should be placed above everything else. It is our sacred duty to gift a safe, happy, beautiful and prosperous Bangladesh to the new generation. In this context, we have not been able to strengthen the country's democratic institutions even in the last 50 years. We have to say it is a misfortune. If you look through the eyes of a political scientist, you can see that there are many types of crises in such a society. The society that practices fair democracy, the more that society progresses. The main goal of the members of parliament should be to see the good and bad of the people and to protect the public interest. Finally, we all have to take into account the President's statement with seriousness and sincerity.
